What's /qa/ looking forward to in sequel season?

Chart: https://www.livechart.me/winter-2021/tv

Yuru Camp, both Hataraku Saibous, and Non Non Biyori.

What's with Hataraku Saibou having two sequels in the same season anyways?

Urasekai Picnic. I've heard that it is inspired by Roadside Picnic, which is one of my favourite books.

File:cute_stalker.gif (538.06 KB,351x375)

a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. anime you say?

File:aaaaaa.JPG (26.88 KB,316x216)

I just went through this yesterday marking what I was going to watch. There's 1 or 2 others I'll pick up like Beastars once I watch S1 at some point and I'm kinda expecting to drop the skating gays.

Looking forward to Slime S2 the most at the moment.

What a boring-looking season...

Maybe Hortensia saga and Hataraku saibou black... I'll wait for kissu friends to post screencaps and webms of the others and pick up accordingly...

File:1382786370204.jpg (1.41 MB,2712x4000)

oh shit is that some key i see

Excluding sequels: Mushoku Tensei, Kumo desu ga, Ura Sekai Picnic. Other than that, I'll probably wait for other people's impressions.

File:[Asenshi] Yuru Camp - 04 [….png (849.68 KB,1280x720)

Seems like a fairly weak season at first glance. I'm definitely going to blanket kissu with Rin eating, though.

Can't say I see it the same way, the mere presence of Rin eating and more NNB makes it strong already, only has room to get better.

I knew it was only a matter of time before sequels started becoming much more common... What a horrible timeline.

In a sense it's not really sequels becoming more common, it's just that stuff that'd usually be animated all at once has instead become more split up in its release.

I can't say that I really dislike this either. It's not really like a Hollywood sequel where it's just making another of something that ended because it was popular, it's just giving rightful continuation to deserving works that still aren't fully adapted or finished yet.

stoner, zero, yuru, and hopefully some movies from previous seasons get translated

The TbA section is more encouraging

File:84112109_p0.png (2.35 MB,1430x1500)

Out of everything that's getting a sequel these days, where's the show most deserving of one?

>Gintama: THE FINAL

Is Gintama seriously ending? I thought it'd go on eternally like wanpiss.

nothing, if you haven’t seen any of the shows getting a sequel or dont want to watch what looks like low budget trash or a generic rom com then there’s not a single thing to watch

File:rika juice.png (563.41 KB,848x1036)

Nothing that particularly stands out, but EX-ARM, Ura Sekai Picnic, Wonder Egg Priority, Back Arrow and Tenchi Souzou sound like they could be interesting maybe. Too much isekaishit and S2's of shows that I didn't watch otherwise.

File:Tropical_Rouge_Pretty_Cur….webp (149.79 KB,853x541)

This should be nice and colorful. But, it still doesn't sound as wonderful as Star Twinkle just based on the name alone.

Is it just me or does this season have a lot less anime than previous seasons?

File:1585730787300.jpg (263.42 KB,1665x1535)

There were some that had even less if I'm not mistaken. It's because of covid slowing down production.

File:c357f6d11a.jpg (1.58 MB,3665x1953)

Take a look at Summer again, now that was little

Put these into wrong thread
Yokusoku no Neverland is worth catching up on

the seasons already started and I still dont feel drawn to watch anything, barely any discussion of new shows here or on 4/a/, what a sad season

Would probably talk more about airing stuff if I felt there was more interest in actually talking about anime...

I'm going to wait a bit and watch the first episodes of some shows in the stream to see what's worth watching or not.

File:[SubsPlease] Yakusoku no N….jpg (285.21 KB,1280x720)

Neverland s2 seems pretty good so far. Keeping up the thriller survival aspect even after they're out of the farm, possibly to even more of a desperate extent since now it's not human's they're facing anymore

That's a shame to hear. Personally, there is way more I'm interested in watching this season than in any other season for years.

love rpg fantasy and isekai trash so i love this season

Sequel season is a lot better when you've watched the things that are getting sequels. Not a lot this season that's really interesting outside of sequels

I suppose that's fair. I primarily only watch seasonal anime when it is a sequel to a series I already enjoyed, otherwise I'd typically prefer just to binge it after the BDs are released, so the abundance of sequels is actually a large part of why I'm excited for this season. Besides for sequels, Urasekai Picnic and Horimiya stand out as worth a try to me, but it depends really on what genres you're looking for.

>Seitokai Yakuindomo Movie 2
What a pleasant surprise. I hope that they will never run out of material.

File:[SubsPlease] Jaku-Chara To….jpg (194.01 KB,1280x720)

Bottom-tier character? More like bottom tier anime. Could see everything it pulled coming a mile away and it's nothing impressive either. Nothing in the first episode could even seem to be setting up a premise that's somewhat fun. Extremely cringeworthy dialogue and characters that feel as though they were made to be a convenient mouthpiece for preaching to the viewer, it's hot garbage.

File:[SubsPlease] Kumo desu ga,….jpg (166.69 KB,1280x720)

I was kinda thinking, with all the big names this season, what's the current flavor of the month? Is it Re:Zero or Kumo?

File:[SubsPlease] Show by Rock!….jpg (169.05 KB,1280x720)

Yeah, Delmin's still got it. So cute. So colorful. My soul is healed.

ahhhh, i missed her cool mint drills so much

File:[SubsPlease] Kumo desu ga,….jpg (761.56 KB,1920x1080)

Re:Zero is still as dull as ever.

The voice of /qa/ is in this one, but I'm just so tired of this whole isekai thing. Have you guys heard of it, isekai? It's really interesting!

I've heard it's one of the really early ones. As in it was made before it became trendy to do so, so it's probably got some merit to it (I've also heard good things about the LN, and it's apparently finished so this shouldn't just be another advertisement). Definitely want to give it a watch when it doesn't have a giant ad on the bottom of it, which is in a couple days.

If you do want to see the first couple of episodes with a giant banner on the bottom, then have at it.

Or... maybe not? It says 2012 so I guess people were exaggerating when they said it was really early.

It is, at the very least, one of the most popular and well regarded Narou series. (Not exactly effusive praise, I know.)

File:[SubsPlease] Idoly Pride -….jpg (121.77 KB,1280x720)

Idoly idol's pride idoly pride idoly idoly idoly idols

I don't get why everyone is looking forward to Yuru Camp S2 so much, it's one of the dullest hobby SoL i ever watched

File:[SubsPlease] Idoly Pride -….jpg (Spoiler Image,124.37 KB,1280x720)

idoly idols no no no

File:[SubsPlease] Idoly Pride -….jpg (132.83 KB,1280x720)

idoly idols idol eternal

I definitely wouldn't say it was bad or anything, but I did think it a bit over-rated. First episode of season 2 was great though. Really feels like they upped the art and animation quality from last time, and it is the kind of anime where the atmospheric elements are especially important.

File:[EMBER] Tensei Shitara Sli….jpg (640.32 KB,1920x1080)

Slime time.

File:[SubsPlease] Wonder Egg Pr….jpg (143.68 KB,1280x720)

Flip-Flappers esque?

File:[SubsPlease] Mushoku Tense….jpg (186.44 KB,1280x720)

Watched the first episode and really enjoyed it, not to mention it seems to have a high production budget behind it which helps. It's got my hopes up that it'll be on the same level as bookworm.

You have to keep in mind that Yuru Camp was a big crossover hit among people who usually don't watch Kirara adaptations and other SoL shows.

I guess I'll be giving this a try tomorrow then, although I don't like the 3D girl there on the left

File:[SubsPlease] Wonder Egg Pr….jpg (116.26 KB,1280x720)

Don't want to lead people on too much but I made that post while watching the episode and left girl disappears, she's not like Papika

But autist is cute

Oh, I didn't mean her as a character, it's just that I think artists should do a better job of trying to hide 3D by avoiding angles like that. She looks like she's straight from a Love Live game, which is quite unfortunate for an anime.
Bleh... I need to build up a tolerance for 3D since it's only going to increase.

I'm... surprised you noticed it. Even looking at the screenshot I still don't see it. Maybe my eyesight it getting worse.

Not who you're talking to, but it's the shading. I always second-guess myself when looking at these things because digital coloring may have gotten to the point where you use the paint bucket tool and it produces too perfect a result, but the character posing in this case outs the drawing as 3DCG, or at least drawn from a 3D model without much care to disguise it.

What's worse is that the people who do this boast about using 3DCG to produce anime instead of feeling guilty and niwaka shower them with praise instead of looking down on it. Ufotable got on my bad side precisely because of this.

File:[SubsPlease] Show by Rock!….jpg (165.01 KB,1280x720)

I think it's because the depth is too perfect. There should be some inaccuracies in it whether it's stylization or simple human imperfection. I'm still not 100% sure about the 'Show by Rock!' cars because they look peculiar enough to fool me- complete with jumpy animation. I think it could be a combination for different scenes, but here in this image I don't know if it's 3D or not.

File:winter2021.png (1.77 MB,2007x1309)

what im watching so far, not sure if I'll continue with cells at work.

File:[SubsPlease] Wonder Egg Pr….jpg (107.54 KB,1280x720)

I like it! The 3D is pretty obvious (and sometimes pretty bad) at times, but not always, and you kind of adapt to it. I'd certainly prefer a 2D version, but this still has great potential.
Is it the /qa/ show of Winter 2021? Too early to tell.

File:WhatIPlanToWatchWeekly.png (6.1 KB,279x240)

Haven't watched Idoly pride and wixoss but pic related is what I'll be watching weekly. I had dropped a lot from my "Will try watching weekly" list last season but there are a lot of great weekly anime this season!

Oh yeah haven't watched Jimiko either.

File:Taiga_7sZKpRnonE.png (46.71 KB,541x649)

How in the name of fuck did you drop so many shows with potential and keep that pretentious repulsive failed-normal preachy garbage Tonozaki-kun? It's the one anime from what I've seen this season I couldn't even make it through the first episode of. Or is there still more you haven't seen...

Anyways aside from that trash nothing's really warranted me dropping it just yet. Picked up more than I expected, probably will thin out as the season goes on.

Oh, you're mistaken. I haven't dropped any shows. Everything not in that image I judged would be better watched all together rather than 1 episode per week.

File:[SubsPlease] Youjo Shachou….jpg (113.19 KB,1280x720)

This one is a series of shorts, but they're all already released as one file in a torrent. I think I might separate them and make a thread to upload an episode a day or something

File:[SubsPlease] Jaku-Chara To….jpg (257.4 KB,1280x2160)

Ah, I see. Makes more sense when you put it that way. Though I can't see the worth in even following Tozaki at all. It feels like it was written by some born-again loser who used to visit /r9k/. Not the usual self-deprecating, riajuu-hating loser that you find often in anime, but a truly painful to listen to human being. Then the girl is so ungodly preachy, and her loathful way of trying to define how a proper life should be lived pissed me off so much I shut it off in the middle of the episode.

looks really cute!

I don't know really, there's something about cringe inducing/bad anime that go beyond a certain level of cringe/badness that makes me like watching them.

File:[SubsPlease] Soukou Musume….jpg (129.04 KB,1285x1433)

Wonder if they're airing the bath episode so early in case people were to back out after two episodes.

File:[SubsPlease] Kumo desu ga,….jpg (113.97 KB,1280x720)

Kinda really liking the spider isekai so far. Sure, it's CG, but not always, and when it is the studio seems to have a good grasp on how to do CG right without making it look horrendous. I just wonder how long the struggle to power up will continue for the MC before they become overpowered. Since if it happens too early I find that these kind of shows tend to drop off fast if there's nothing to challenge the protagonist, and turn more into wank-fests than anything.

They will pay.

File:Vlad Love - 01 - Vampire G….jpg (199.84 KB,1280x720)

I forgot to mention I watched Vlad Love. There was one episode released last month, but the show isn't starting proper until February. I was pretty sure the MC was a guy, but it's a girl which means it could go the yuri route and I'm not too a big a fan of that. She's also a high school student and a lot of it seems to take place at the school, which is lame. Sadly the type of humor really isn't for me, but the serious parts seem okay. It has a tinge of Moon Phase to it, but a lower quality one of course.
Definitely a "wait and see" type of show

File:[HorribleSubs] Houseki no ….jpg (84.87 KB,1280x720)

Will the makers of HnK pay as well for making pinnacle of CG anime, just because it's CG?

Love Big Evil Undertaker!

I thought that was Kemono Friends.

File:[SubsPlease] Tatoeba Last ….jpg (150.15 KB,1280x720)

Man, it kinda felt like it from the onset of the first episode, but Last Dungeon truly feels hollow and void of any creativity whatsoever. It knows not how to be funny nor serious, and is a complete mess of tone throughout. At least it's good for its funne faec

File:[SubsPlease] Mushoku Tense….jpg (256.22 KB,1280x720)

so far among isekai and isekai-like fantasy:

mushoku tensei > kumo desu ga > re:zero > kaifuku jutsushi > kakushi dungeon > slime > last dungeon

The edgy healer anime is best thought of not as an anime but rather a fantasy rape eromanga. If you know what those are like and you go in expecting that it probably will be enjoyable. Those expecting a good story will be in for a sore disappointment.

i like the stinky neet isekai one but actually i hate the main character a lot
litteraly he wouldnt have any problems in life if he didnt get fat
also i dont like the stupid trope that he became super magically powerful... there's some kid being mentored by merlin out there
neets dont have willpower or work ethic so he wouldnt be able to be good at anything. also he smells

Wixoss is kind of cute and the main girl is insane

the eggime is okay i guess but if the main character didnt have sexy legs i wouldnt watch it

File:world witches.jpg (134.74 KB,1273x714)

I had no idea there was another season of potato witches, let alone the fact that the 502nd are in it. World Witches Hasshin Shimasu!

spinoff comedy series. doesn't advance the world, but talks about character interactions so I guess it's alright

File:noa.jpg (223.76 KB,1920x1080)

Noa's belly !!!! erotic....

Wow, they seem like they're aiming for more fanservice than s3!

File:EepGS_UUYAA9P4E.jfif (2.01 MB,3951x2464)

I find, often, after the grand conclusion to the adventure, that I want to experience with the characters some of the reward or aftermath of the story. I have grown to appreciate more and more shows that have a cooldown episode, a laid back season, a nice ova or ona, or even sketches of laid back daily lives like sushio does for kill la kill

File:[SubsPlease] Show by Rock!….jpg (131.15 KB,1280x720)

They ignored the boys, this will be the best season of show by rock ever

File:[SubsPlease] Show by Rock!….jpg (207.7 KB,1280x720)

I don't think they're being ignored, but they probably won't feature as prominently because there's two protagonist which will already struggle to feature everyone.
I can't believe people didn't vote for this in the stream... it's so good

>two protagonist
two protagonist bands*

What site is that?

was Taiga.
