Another Key VN adaptation after Prima Doll a couple years ago. Starring the voice of /qa/ in the main role! https://anilist.co/anime/143200/Summer-Pockets/
Apart from sequels and whatnot:
>Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san
Sigh... knowing myself, if this is what it looks like i'm probably going to have to watch this one too.
>Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi
Looks cute, might watch.
>Rock wa Lady no Tashinami Deshite
This kinda looks like a manga i found once, so probably going to check it out.
>mono
I read "momo" at first and got very confused for a moment as to why that old book would've gotten an anime. Anyway, it's a maybe.
>Anne Shirley
This looks like a remake of a some old 80's anime, or maybe it's just my memory making things up... It's another maybe.
>>141302
I enjoyed Prima Doll, so i might check this one out then.
>>141305
Ooh, so that's what it was. And that easily got me to find the anime version of it, that i was thinking of: https://myanimelist.net/anime/283/Akage_no_Anne
P.A Works original about girls eating https://anilist.co/anime/185939/Hibi-wa-Sugiredo-Meshi
i prefer the anilist version
hard to know what I want to watch, but there's a fair bit of stuff worth trying.
Japan's been going through a sorta mini-remake era, but they're not really all that popular compared to what's actually mainstream so I think it's sorta fine. Only issue is when you stop with new ideas completely like Hollywood sorta did, but with the LN and manga industry still going strong Japan probably won't suffer the same fate.
Although I have to say it's a bit disappointing that none of the remakes that I've seen so far have really completely transformed their initial iteration. Mostly just shiny coats of paint on an old IP. Which I guess is better than bastardization but wouldn't be bad to have a The Thing or two.
BYE BYE EARTH SEASON TWO, BABY! I wonder if it will have more than 10 episodes this time. First season was great. Unique show with fantastic style and one of the best soundtracks of recent memory. Yes it had silly titles pop up on the screen, but it was a pretty serious show with some nice, albeit confusing worldbuilding.
Looking forward to it! [Kissu Poster - The one Who Posts on Kissu]
>>141326
Ohhh, Kevin Penken the MiA guy did the soundtrack. Now it makes sense.
Just downloaded the BD and it's working in surround and it's very good! Practically orgasmic when the songs climax. Such atmospheric music really immerses you in the moment and I hope kissu people give it a chance if you didn't when it aired! Go download and binge it before S2 starts!
Or if you won't, at least give this clip a chance to hear the sound design. It's just episode 1 so not a major spoiler. There's so many fantastic songs that give the show such an ethereal feel, it's truly something that everyone should hear.
It's a show with a heavy emphasis on music in the story and I suppose it makes sense to go the extra mile (or dozen) for it.
https://anilist.co/anime/183275/The-TooPerfect-Saint-T
>What no one expects is for Julius to call off the engagement, claiming that Philia’s perfection makes her charmless and unlikable. To add insult to injury, Philia is packed off to a neighboring country in exchange for gold and resources, forcing her to leave her homeland!
hehe female-oriented anime makes me laugh sometimes
The Aru Majo show might be good. I don't think the main story part will play much of a role, but the episodic stuff could be nice if it's done well. Unfortunately the first episode is focused on establishing the premise so I can't really judge it. Nice faces and she's kind of cute, I guess? Seems like it will be like Kino format in that she has to visit new areas every episode and I love that stuff.
Well, at least until they reach episode 7 and decide to stop doing that and devote 5 episodes to one story that stopped being interesting. *cough*
It will be in the stream at least because I think it's worth trying.
Love this blonde fanger!
The first episode was more about her than baseball, hope it stays like that.
>>141527
Man, whatever the opening OST has going on does NOT sit well with me.
'Your Forma' could be good. AI Robot stuff with the law of robotics involved. Main girl is cute
Wached:
¥Beginning after the End of my drop
¥Kanpekiseijo can't smile
¥Haite Kudasai into my Panties
¥Baseball beer sluts
¥Aru Majo ga Shinda in terms of my interest
¥Kijin Dropped its cool setting
¥Kanchigai no Atelier didn't cost $70 but still lost me
Everything I've watched so far fucking sucks, or has me completely uninterested, when do I get to the good ones?
>>141574
I'm actually going to drop everything and maybe read if this keeps up. I guess at least I know for certain I'll keep up with Gundam GQuuuuuuX so that's one thing I guess. I'll glaze my eyes over Slime 300 as well.
Healer show is very average, possibly a bit below average, but meh, it's passable because it has cute girls and the guy isn't a pushover. I thought it would just be fantasy healing but he healed an elf slave girl by teleporting a gallstone by outside of her and that was kind of unexpected for a medieval setting.
>>141583
How dare you. Kuon's ears are magnificently fluffy and soft and animated, and not repulsive blocky goblin ears.
>>141586
Yeah I was thinking the Black Jack thing too due to the price scale.
>girls are cute
The elf is the only cute girl so far.
The seasonal stream is kicking off this Saturday, which is today in most timezones!
Now is the time for any last minute nominations, although I've been using these threads to get a general feel of what people are interested in.
Bye Bye Earth S2. Still very pretty! Lots of talking in the first half, but it was good. Basically more of what I liked about the first season. Very cool, otherworldly rituals and visuals and all that sort of thing.
These subs aren't translating all of the pop-up text, so I hope that's fixed in episode 2.
>HATE "Tehehe im so quirky" MCs
>>141623
I'm really bothered by the 3D. Maybe this is something only people that mess with 3D notice, but it really takes me out of the moment to see her spherical head and tube arm there with her geometric hand that's more cel shade outline than flesh.
Lots of cute girls, and even a cute shota!
Chocolate elf.
Good:
-Brown elf
-Ecchi
Bad:
-Censored
-It's the studio that did the plump elf show a few seasons ago, which was unfortunately crippled by low budget QUALITY. At first glance they seem to be a bit better, although maybe that's an episode one thing.
I'm going to wait to see if there's an uncensored version before watching more of it because the glowing white steam is a huge distraction.
Actually I should go see if there's an uncensored version now...
>>141679
Alright, brown elf has an uncensored version! Her voice is cute.
Having watched the full 12 minute episode now, I can say its quality level is higher than plump elf. Which is good, but also bad because it makes me depressed that plump elf was the learning experience adaptation full of issues. From bellies to a dominant yandere brown elf with a teen boy that's closer to girl than boy, I think this studio is chasing niches and they're very good niches at that.
Might be the first time I've seen a pubic mons in an ecchi, or can it still be called ecchi at this point?
We'll have to see if there's a budget falloff in episode 2, but I'm impressed it's the same studio that did plump elf only two seasons ago.
holy fuck
HOLY FUCK
Three shows this seasons with nudity and Makina-san is the highest quality one. Ecchi quality!
Story doesn't seem too bad, the fact that she's a robot (not exactly a spoiler) makes it a bit more interesting at least.
Zatsu Tabi is just a tourism ad campaign. I was hoping the "journey" would be a bit more philosophical or involve the main character's career as a manga artist, but it's clear that the focus is the locations and getting people to visit and spend money. I guess some people might be interested in that, but meh.
It's my opinion that this is going to be a very strong season, at least by my standards. I'm not one of those "anime hasn't been good since 1967" people. I think the seasonal stream run time every week is going to be six hours long.
You can't really judge too much by 1 episode, but I see a lot of potential, and of course some major sequels are around.
Anyway... so far the OP of the season so far (of the 7 or so OPs I've seen) belongs to Chuuzenji-sensei and I think this show is.... GREAT! Mystery stuff, cats, good setting, nice faces, good style, enjoyable visuals and a great main male character. Add in some philosophical stuff and you have a hit. It's not often you get to use male reaction faces.
If you're not going to watch the seasonal stream, go give this a try!
Great first episode; the comedy was on point, the girl was cute, the duo seems fun.
Also a YOASOBI banger to end the episode.
I see why there's an autism horse thread. She's pretty funny. The other horses, though, don't seem that interesting. I guess we'll have to see if it becomes more interesting or if one girl (horse) can carry the show.
Apocalypse Hotel seems like it will be really good! Although, it does seem like the first episode was more of a prologue and it really starts with the second episode. The people in the ED ( >>>/jp/89958 )
weren't even in the episode.
But, just based on the character interactions and stuff I can tell it's going to be enjoyable. Strong season is strong.
>>141721
Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi is about a guy and his six siblings learning they're no longer blood related and it giving the go-ahead for quasi-incestuous romcom stuff.
It's okay, I guess. I'll watch it, but it's not something worth adding to seasonal stream.
Lazarus... yeah it's pretty good. "We got the Cowboy Bebop guy so let's do Cowboy Bebop stuff".
Have I mentioned this season seems strong?
Makeine is getting a season 2 https://www.animenewsnetwo
I wonder if we should Uma-musu marathon
>>141767
We did season 2 before we made it a general rule to watch earlier stuff first. The one from a few seasons ago didn't pass voting (and it was a weaker one I think), but you're right in that it's quite disconnected.
I feel as if shots like these are important to understanding how Yuki Osanai sees the unfolding of events
Ninja to Koroshiya no Futarigurashi is a show about a ninja and an assassin, but... it's by Shaft and, well, it's full of Shaftisms and the absurdly high quality stylish visuals you'd associate with Shaft.
A true visual feast that fills me with nostalgic joy. This will likely go in the pantheon of kissu's Shaft love. (huh huh)
Moonrise seems pretty great, although I don't like how Netflix released all 18 episodes at once. I'm not going to marathon it, but it's tempting to do so. It seems to be about war and AI and the Moon... rising. The visuals are quite nice and remind me of an OVA movie. I can't really post them because it's spoilery.
It's an Original which deserves praise. Oh, so was Apolcalypse Hotel mentioned upthread.
>>141802
I'll get to it... been trying nearly everything.
>>141802
Wow, that's some top notch animation in Shin Samurai-den Yaiba! I hope they didn't blow all the budget in the first episode. It's hard for me to disconnect the visuals from Detective Conan. I guess it's... Detective Ronin. It reminds me of the Urusei Yatsura remake in that it's old material brought to the modern age.
Princess Session Orchestra is doing the fighting singing idol mahou shoujo thing just like Idol Precure. I'd say the fighting parts are stronger, but the SoL part is weaker. Great fansubs. 4 cours.
Probably not going to add it to seasonal stream unless people tell me to since it's already so long and the whole 'year long' thing.
>>141812
Oh my god I actually did forget you can do that, I haven't had any reason to do it in like a decade.
Apocalypse hotel looks nice, both visually and story-wise. MC (robot) is also super cute; might be a robot but still makes funny faces and tsukkomi.
Damn, this shit was depressing.
DM: Have you
DS: Yes!
DM: Do you

I'm trying, but I just can't take this hairstyle seriously. She literally takes up 3 spots at the lunch table (as seen in the first episode)
That's some kuso fucking taste...
The MuMu show about the alien cat is kinda decent. It's not amazing (especially for this season), but it passes the time and cat reactions can be good. The alien's species wiped out their intelligent members of the other side in a war and only tards are left. Said tards escaped to Earth and try to understand Earth technology.
Someone was asking about how fast people can run 400M and the answer is that olympic records are in the 45sec range.
https://en.wikipedia.o
I guess I forgot to mention it outside of posting images in other threads, but Mono is really good. It's from the Yuru Camp creator and the characters and mood really fits that pattern. Instead of a focus on camping it's about photography.
The first episode was a really strong showing with great faces and a relaxing atmosphere. A strong show in a season of strong shows!
https://fansubdb.com/wiki/Spring_2025
Chihiro, why the heck are you doing 'Your Forma' in such a strong season? Also doing Rock wa Lady!
Kaleido is doing Summer Pockets and Gundam, which is great. Commie doing Lazarus. Some 4/a/ people are (were???) doing the Orchestra show, and of course Piyoko is bringing me my much-needed AiPri. There's some other shows I'm not watching and this website isn't magically updated with everything.
Decent enough season for fansubs.
>>141971
This is great dude, thanks. I never really cared for obsessing over gear so it's nice that it's method first.
>>143836
Seems like a great list so far. But... no Uma Musume? The autism horse is quite the main character.
I feel like Bye Bye Earth is greatly underappreciated, or maybe it's just too weird and ridiculous to grab people.
>>143931
>Seems like a great list so far.
Yeah, it always looks like that till I start selecting and dropping titles after episode 3.
>no Uma Musume?
>I feel like Bye Bye Earth is greatly underappreciated
I didn't put them in the list or other series since I still have to watch S1 of them first. I will eventually. They are in my backlog for now, but I want to watch both of them.
>>144216
I wouldn't worry about needing to watch Uma Musume stuff. It's quite standalone as it's in a far off school with a new roster of characters that are completely unrelated to anyone else. I'd expect a cameo here or there, but I doubt anything significant.
You already have a lot on your plate, though, so maybe it's best to save it for later.
I wonder why grown men make VNs about kids reliving their youth, which will probably have some sort of tragic twist
>>144783
Didn't feel attracted to it, I don't like remakes too much. I have been avoiding Ranma 1/2 too for now, and I used to love that serie. Maybe in the future I will watch both of them.
>>144784
Just https://www.livechart.
>>144786
I will, thanks!
Really like the new character in mono, Shikishima. A strong collection of autismo this season! Maybe that's why its so good.
>>148078
they do, at least for v2
>>148081
https://rentry.org/dmglazarus03
everything is out, someone just needed to put it together
Witch Watch OP looks like a good OP of the season contender. Haven't liked non-anisongs from Yoasobi, but their anime OP/EDs are always bangers.
They really needed to get Sawashiro for her.
Pointless little easter-egg in Shoushimin

>>148200
In the future people rediscovered Gene Ray's Time Cube concept and recognized his genius, then used it as the basis for such technology.
huh so the ninja intro was a recreation of a 1969 show
I finally finished Frieren but probably need to go back and watch the first half of it as I initially watched it while travelling. I'm glad that something of this quality has achieved such popularity above most isekai or other flavour of the month; I really enjoy a classic fantasy world that doesn't feature a power fantasy or other bells and whistles. Now I only wish it existed as an MMO setting.
I've also found lately that whenever I watch something that is somewhat serious I find myself at least misty eyed at some point in each episode. I'm not sure if I just happen to be viewing more stuff that produces an emotional reaction - or why that happens - or if I've become most wistful so the threshold for such a reaction is lower.
>>148634
Frieren was fantastic, yeah. I liked the relaxing moments more than the action stuff, it did a good job with its atmosphere and theme. The action stuff wasn't bad, and maybe that's how it managed to become so popular, but just the thing about the journey and death and such was nice.
I also liked it when Fern ate or pouted. Very good.
>>148654
I think what gave Freiren so much appeal was it didn't do just slice of life or action. The fights that they did have were well done and not some tacked on deal, and the slice of life was engaging and wasn't the whole show. The characters being both expressive and full of character makes both halves actually work. Then you wrap it all up in a nice bow with a good theme and narrative. Yeah, it's not some isekai shounen schlock, and it's not cute girls doing cute things, but if you like either of those then you'll still find great enjoyment in it. And Fern, Fern was also really cute and had fantastic character development over her life.
>>148654
>I also liked it when Fern ate or pouted. Very good.
So the entire series? I thought the fight scenes were pretty but also appriciated how they don't drag on and on.
>>148764
It just seems like a production that isn't doing anything innovative or groundbreaking, just the fundamentals really well. I like how characterization is largely done through flashbacks and is drip fed throughout the series; I hope they expand on the backgrounds of the examinees introduced towards the end this way, they did it a little with Ubel. I should probably read it too.
