I don't disagree with the deletion. I hated the thread, but my feeling was to wait for it to invariably boil over and become ugly so I would be clearly justified in purging it. Taking a stance before that happens is good, too. It seems like people weren't being purposely gossipy or rude, but it's hard to take this kind of thread in isolation.
