have you guys ever heard of Shen Yun?, its a dance number that has the tag line "China before communism", i've seen billboards, flyers and other advertisements about Shen Yun, and on the surface it really just looks like a normal dance performance akin to something like The Nutcracker but with chinese themes.
well after doing some digging, the performance is operated by the cult Falun Gong, they are a very strange spiritual and political cult, i am going to choose my words carefully here as they are very political but the tldr version is that they started in china, got persecuted, and moved to america. the Shen yun performance its self seems to reflect their teaches and is very anti chinese communist party.
oh but the performance its self is very flashy and pretty, i would love to watch it one day as it looks beautiful
