Huh.....
Well, I suppose you're not wrong. Small world.

- 2 strangers are spontaneously 'chosen' as the resistance against an antagonistic alien force - an ongoing assault which has conveniently peaked in intensity at the present time.
- They possess latent magical powers, signified by a common symbol printed on their bodies from a personal traumatic event.
Some small in-between details here and there too, but this is basically it for now.
Idea I've somewhat had for a while that I'm finally pushing myself to tackle, plus it seemed cute the more I thought about it.
Utsuho had to squat down a little to even partially get in the shot.
>>156234
Kind of reminds me of Don't Starve honestly, in the best of ways of course.
>>156381
I saw the original thread of that and I love the look! Excellent use of markers, you have to tell me if this is an original character or not.
>>156390
Why are they so pointy...good perspective though.
>>156424
Good luck with the rest of the drawings for that then. Is it just visual for now or do you have any matching tracks to back them up atm?
>>156474
Why am I judged by Satori's third eye... Very nice detail.
Somewhat a broader question to all Anons drawing 2hus here, when you draw Okuu, do you treat her Yatagarasu eye as a part of body or part of her clothes? No matter which answer, is it because it's easier for you to do it the way you do, or is it because of how you think it really is?
Posted a bunch of other peoples OCs on /megu/, also some multi >>>/megu/2721. Finally getting around to my ideas.
>>156474
I like making Okuu and Orin very big bust wise, but also giving some to satori as well so she isn't as jealous of her pets and sister.
>>156477
>Very nice detail
Many thanks, she judges (You) because she Knows. Also, not sure if you've noticed yet but that isn't the only judging eye on you among them :)
>when you draw Okuu, do you treat her Yatagarasu eye as a part of body or part of her clothes?
You actually inspired me to make a neat little infograph for this subject so hopefully that should help my explanation.
In short, I basically consider it as much apart of her as her wings would be. It was the inevitable result of incorporating Yatagarasu so viscerally and acts as a partial power storage/display but isn't as cumbersome as you'd think. When she's relaxed, it's much more squishy and malleable like an actual eye would be but tenses up and hardens when she's stressed or under negative pressure. It looks like glass, feels slick and fleshy and attempting to remove it would be futile. Also painful.
It's both easy for me and how I would think it'd properly function, plus it just looks pleasing nestled in her cleavage imo.
>>156478
Okuu essentially has half-innies, they're just so big and dense and everything else is so puffy that they'll constantly be poking through her shirts and such a little no matter what.
I'm sure you can imagine how bad it'd be for her otherwise.
>>156479
I was considering making Satori even more of a flatty-flat but that felt too evil of me so I settled by making her the only one wearing a bra instead (which is still giving her most of that size tbf), the pets being bigger is always a good thing though of course. The point of the anon below you is partially why I've been warming up to the idea of varied sizes as well.
>>156516
Sometimes a good few years in the oven is just what a project needs. That demo is fairly soothing though, I hope you find some ease with approaching the rest of the album eventually because it has some good potential.
>>156535
Honestly I didn't really mind how it was before, I just wanted to know if there was some kind of stylistic reasoning behind the choice or something.
But at least she doesn't look like she's on the verge of lactating after an intense ice bath anymore I suppose lol
>>156546
Thank you, I posted a boob toob and a hisami there as well >>>/megu/2724, also reposting my old hisami from 4/jp/, I think this was the first "being serious about drawing" work I did and it was really encouraging. Unfortunately when I went back to get my image (I forgot to save the color version), I realized that was also when the yuri asshole was starting to mess with those threads, its nostalgia getting clouded by animosity....
>>156474
I have a better version now>>156545
>Honestly I didn't really mind how it was before, I just wanted to know if there was some kind of stylistic reasoning behind the choice or something
I was intentionally drawing smaller to save room on the paper which is only 28x23cm, but I still wanted to draw nipples more detailed than just literal dots. I didn't intend for them to be that pointy in the first place though

He actually posted a whole short comic of his earlier in the thread but, I assume, has simply been elsewhere in the meantime (mostly 8moe from what I've heard).
For me I wish we saw a little more mspaintanon posting personally but we can't ask for everyone to be okay frequenting here sadly.
>>156817
Yeah he lurks both places and has an insane output rate when it comes to his funny drawings, lots of good charm there and he really isn't bad at more erotic stuff either but he tends to keep to himself regardless which I respect (this was a request for him from me once).
103 does a lot of landscape stuff while also drawing comedic lewd scenarios, very satisfying paint style and tends to draw Letty and Lily White a lot. The /v/hu's like stirring the drama pot with him a lot but I honestly couldn't care less if he has some kind of deal to him or not.
>>156819
That sounds like him, my only problem is he can end up taking a whole thread in a matter of hours (what am I saying? I took most of this and /megu/ threads). I don't think I have seen 103s drawings, but its sounds like crap with /v/hu, I mentioned it earlier but no one should really engage with those threads or 4/jp/ anymore, its pure brainrot at this point.
>>156822
Sad he went back, maybe he will start taking it slower and make some bigger pixel art images

Try checking around secondhand stores for electronics and games. Sister got a nice wacom tablet far below market value from a place like that. Otherwise check for budget options off of amazon. For something to start with, I found this: https://www.amazon.com/10x6-25-Graphics-Batte
Cheap enough to get your feet wet and not give buyer's remorse if you dont like it. Should work with Linux.
A big thing you'll have to figure out yourself is if you work better drawing on a screen or a drawpad. Drawpads are much cheaper but the disconnect from where your hand is to where your looking is a turnoff for some, but you can use your monitor and keyboard while drawing. A display drawing tablet is more natural to draw on, but you're forgoing the display resolution of your monitor and the functionality of your keyboard unless you go for larger pricier options, and you might suffer bad posture and neck cramps depending on how you draw or set the position up.
>>156834
You will see. In due time. I must finish linework on the background and color it all.
Really want to try and see how a blotty watercolor kind of thing would look for color and texture. I've only done flat coloring before and texturing is not in my repertoire of skills. The current roadblock is figuring out how to draw a tire and not make it look like shit in perspective…

>>156830
as someone who has used a variety of wacom tablets, the screen-less ones never worked out for me, it took too long to get used to and I ended up never using them. Once I started drawing on my old galaxy note and got used to touch screen + pen, I can only recommend tablet screens. I have a Galaxy tab for portable drawing and a wacom one for actual pc screen drawing, I recommend either but it depends entirely which environment you want to work in. Linux support is good on all wacom tablets, but there is some configuration needed, yet its still good as an option.

Oh my god, this is so good...it almost feels like it's based off of true events. The expressions are wonderful and the perspective overall is really really great. Good work on the texturing as well! What where you mostly using to render all that?
It was well worth the efforts, I can assure you, but the frustrations with toiling are understandable. Also her death pose is pretty funny lol
>>157121
Thank you!
>What where you mostly using to render all that?
Krita watercolor brushes. I'd continuous area select out the area, paint over it with a solid white (or change it to some other grey/black if needed), then make a clipping group and use watercolor with the actual color on the mask of that area so it all kept cleanly within its bounds. So like 2-3 layers with the rough grain brush and spread on whatever more textured brush felt right to use that didn't completely oversaturate it. A lot of just playing around with how the pigments move and change in opacity.
>surprise box
I wanted to have her leg kick over but her long robes and tails aren't conducive to showing that off well.
>>157122
>Krita watercolor brushes
Oh I literally remember you talking about this, should've known. As someone who mostly works in solid colors with digital that does sound like quite the process but live and learn.
>A lot of just playing around with how the pigments move and change in opacity
That and blending are the two things I would like to slowly get better at but I at least have a decent grasp over that with physical stuff (picrel).
>tails aren't conducive to showing that off well
Personally, I would've had the tails tangled with the leg to complete the joke proper but I'm a sucker for needless detail, I can't blame you.
>>157131
I LOVE IT LOL that's so goddamn perfect...hadn't even thought of that myself. Saved.
Technically it's cut off like that cause I thought it might be neat to keep the characters in the frame like usual but have supporting objects bleed into the background anyways (just the blankets really). Stylistically it does look a little funny in execution but I still think this one and the SDM variant are my favorites (the first one I did as well for sentimental reasons)
Alice (the Black Souls one)
Part one to a fusu-inspired drawing I decided to do with Nue. Kind of at a crossroads between semi-romantic writing and full-on sexual stuff but nonetheless an experiment overall. Finished it yesterday but only properly putting it somewhere now, hope it isn't too bad after all (part 2 over in >>>/megu/2748 )

I'm being dramatic of course, can't deny it's quite demanding given my previous workflows but calling it finished for the day has been very satisfying so far
>>157535
color choice is something I need to work more on, noticing that omitting outlines makes some stuff blend together in an eye-straining manner
bleh couldn't quite finish what I set out to do here, tho I guess that's also the point of giving yourself a time limit
spooky
>>157953
I didn't like the other gradient options in the program and I don't have either the skill or patience to manually do dithering so... a compromise had to be made
there was an attempt
idk how I ended up with a top half of hair that would better suit yumemi
I think I went a little heavy on the outlines and I wasn't really sure how to shade her hair but other than that I think I'm okay with this. Normally I have a hard time drawing eyes so I'm happy with how they turned out here, though in hindsight I probably should have given both scelra the same shape. Very glad I picked up the eraser >>153862 suggested, it made correcting small mistakes a lot less annoying than usual.
>>158151
To be fair, ZUN's sprites tend to leave a lot up to interpretation.
there we go, week complete
it remains to be seen whether I learned anything in the process but I'm pretty happy I managed to follow through with it, have no excuse to take so long between drawings moving forward
>>158176
darker outlines make things pop so I wouldn't say it's a bad thing, the more hinafaces in the world the better too! have no concept of how it works but how hard is it to color pencil drawings?
>>158212
Noted. I have a habit of drawing heads that are really big, so the weird face probably comes from me trying to make use of all the space I gave myself. I don't know the "proper" way to draw heads, I usually just make a big shape and then I draw the facial features next, so that's probably the next thing I should look into. When you say she's missing the back of her head, are you referring to the space at the bottom-right of her head?
>>158192
>how hard is it to color pencil drawings?
No idea. If I had to guess, it'd probably make sense to start with the linework, then insert the basic colors, then add the shading and detail. I want to get a handle on drawing with graphite before I start adding colors to my drawings.
>>158235
well as a symptom of maximizing her face, you forgot her forehead and the rest of the skull behind her face, thats why I said she was missing it. just practice drawing heads, then position the face on there using golden rectangles (or just what looks alright). Don't worry about the hair until you understand that, then you will start doing it without needing the guide.
Been doing some stuff but not posting it really so let me change that a little.

Cute...just drew that mob girl myself actually. Will post in just a second or two as well.
There is a little bit of context to this one though. I'd drawn these two in a different funny scene about height differences and got hit with the "make them bigger" again so I got creative with it.
Plus I created another nice two-parter as well with

I'll leave things up to you all over what could've happened next.
>>158307
Ah shit, link fail. Sorry! Forgot to do >>>/megu/2762, blame my brain worms.
>>158315
Technically I just make them up on the spot depending on the character and her various traits, but I do have a small personal system to it and I'll use this older pic as an example/excuse to finally explain.
When I'm not just staying semi-faithful to the original design I'll at least keep to a satisfying color palette and then determine the eyes on a few simple factors starting with the pupils. Human(oid)s and some Youkai have similar circle pupils, certain beast Youkai alongside various demons have the vertical slits, ghosts/phantoms and other more spirit-like yooks have hollowed eyes (like Letty), Oni have their own eyes, more miscellaneous Youkai and most Fairies are basically wild cards and, finally, Gods/Higher Entities have diamond pupils (like Shinki) or otherwise abnormal ones all together.
From there I usually double up the irises if I can, since the very base of my inspiration for this look years and years back was Panty & Stocking and this is now where I am after endless small mutations, and add smaller details just based on my mood for the girl basically. In a little while, I'll see if I can draw some small example headshots or something.
>>158314
I just got a great idea for that actually! Thank you kindly

>>158579
You know, I actually haven't and you're right. I would go crazy with her various textures and what-not too if I did a full body for her but I might as well try out a headshot in a little bit and see how it goes.
There's some other stuff I'd like to get to first though and, on that subject, I'll eventually be finishing out the rest of my Desert Bus sketch ideas in this thread per a previous anon's suggestion. For now though here's a fun album cover parody request I did. Really need to get back to using non-paint programs more...
>>158353
I'll be posting my contribution to this here when I get around to it btw
>>158483
Love that linework! Shame the game wasn't too fun but at least you made something really sweet and nice with your time from it.
Did you do this in paint btw or something else?
>>158606
I worded this poorly in my original post, but I was expecting people to come up with their own character designs rather than just copying what I drew. If you want to draw my OCs anyways that's still fine. It's up to you
>>158314
Alright, so usually when I work in stuff that doesn't just feel like paint I've been trying to do things like this with my coloring. Murasa didn't have too many shades on her clothes but that was fine cause it allowed me to showcase these methods in a more minimalist fashion to contrast how I went all-out with her Phantom form and all the dithering. Usually I do the same kinda thing to the hair but since she has black hair it wasn't the best chance to show that off either.
Point is, an easy way to start figuring things out with colored lines is to use them in more specific cases like for any given clothing rather than just thinking about the whole figure in-totality. I make it fit to my style with little choices like leaving the skin uncolored but this all should be applicable in quite a few situations. Practicing your backgrounds without any hard black lines is also a good way to start slowly figuring this stuff out in a way that works for you. Hope that all makes a little bit of sense at least.
Adorable birb pats btw...she deserves only the best.
>>158609
Oh I understand, don't worry. I'll think of something of my own eventually.
>>158612
>>158617
I like these a lot! Especially that first one, she's very well designed. I wouldn't say it's unwelcome in a place like this but the other anon does have a point about good photos like that eventually becoming a little buried.
>>158616
Thanks! I get where that's coming from too, when I can lean into it I do like making my expressions and linework especially striking in the same sort of way (Phantom Murasa is a good example too)
>>158626
Ok that makes sense. I used SAI 1 for the longest time but eventually hit a wall with it, now I use Krita. Thank you as well of course.

>>158639
I do like how soft these look, almost like something you'd see in a storyboard. Is it all done with the same brush? Good practice either way.
>>158641
Thanks. I struggled with eyes for a long time so I went out of my way to study ways to draw them.
>>158647
It's just a hard round brush with pressure set to size. It works okay. I'm in photoshop and I'm trying to replicate the feeling of using a g-pen, which I'm more used to. I normally paint so I use photoshop over CSP, but I think I'll probably switch over for inking. BTW how did you apply that screen tone effect on the right?
>>158686
I've yet to start using things like photoshop for what I do myself but that's neat. I just do it all in the same program usually.
>how did you apply that screen tone effect on the right?
It wasn't exactly a matter of something I applied whole-hog over an already complete drawing, Phantom Murasa simply looks the way she does from the very careful layering of several shades of green (with a little blue for the eyes) and multiple gradient variants using little more than the dithering tool that normally comes with Tegaki.
She only has two solid shades to her while the rest are all semi-perforated since I wanted to get as close to her giving off some kind of ephemeral ghastly glow as possible (like the spellcard she has from UFO herself). Glad it apparently worked nicely though!
>>158691
>its kind of nice to do something smaller so I don't feel daunted by having to do a full drawing every day
Yeah I can imagine. Your output so far has been pretty impressive to keep tabs over but don't be afraid to give yourself more of a break if you need it.
Cute Jackal btw, it's simple but it works just fine.
