Saw this cutie while browsing the interwebs and realized I have absolutely no idea which gachaslop she's from. It looks like Genshin but I know a few Genshin characters and she's not one of them. And then I searched it up and she's from some Wuthering Waves game I've only heard of in passing. Nothing to indicate it besides the google reverse search. It all looks like Genshin, and will continue to look like Genshin. I've been waiting for Gacha to lose its life but maybe it's already on its last legs. All this stuff is blurring together into one money printing blob where each printer is indistinguishable from the next, I can't see how that lasts for more than a couple more years.

I know a few girls from most the Hoyo games just from exposure to them online but I don't know a single one of the Wuthering Waves girls, it seems like none of them had any impact.

Gacha and vtubers are hollow assembly line creations; uncontrolled and uninspired blobs of raped cliches. Empty nothings assembled with an algoritm or possibly a dart board.
I can identify them because they have no thematic appeal, it's random colors and accessories assembled with less finesse than a 15 year-old furry debuting his neon genital'd OC on furaffinity. In the rare chance you can sense a theme you can do some digging to find the original Japanese creation dating back 5-40 years that was blatantly used as the template.
The culmination of otaku culture is the utter absence of creative spirit to churn out as many new characters in as short a time as possible, paying no attention to worldbuilding, telling a story through a character's wardrobe, or other creative necessities. Utterly empty facsimiles that lack the breath of fictional life. Yes, that is the gacha "character".

How uninformed! You could have just wrote "I'm emotionally hurt by them and need to vent" instead of all these words! As for "gacha games"...
Most of them are turn based jrpgs with gacha methods of character/item procurment. You can compare gacha to stuff like microtransactions and lootboxes, but saying it's inherently unoriginal is wrong, because how and why would it be?
What is unoriginal is video game industry, including but not limited to japanese video game industry. The problems you have outlined, lack of soul and copy pasting of previous themes and characters is also what plagues modern anime, light novels, manga, j-dramas and pc games.
And the ones who are to blame for that are partially japanese culture which is averse to originality, but mostly the userbase who don't mind consuming same thing over and over again. And don't say that you're any different being here: I'm a touhou project fan since 2009, so I've been keeping obsessing over same characters, listening to same music tunes and replaying same danmaku stages over and over again for at least 16 years already. The idea is the same, familiar old is preferable to new.

And no, jrpgs never ever cared about worldbuilding, with exception of Trails franchise maybe. That's what made japanese games, actually japanese fiction different from the western franchises: while huge western franchises such as lotr were focused on worldbuilding, japanese devs and authors always designed characters first and slapped on the story later.

I don't think I've seen a single Gacha character who's not meant to be your subservient plaything as opposed to many JRPG characters who can have a will that can go against what the player may wish for. The inherent problem with all gacha characters is that they're made with the intention of having you pull for them so they always need to have some sort of appeasement to the wider audience in mind while doing so.
